Derek carefully structured my learning experience to ensure that each part of a lesson had a specific purpose. He was prompt to help me tackle small to larger issues, was patient and helped in different ways until we got them completely sorted. The preparations made not only for my theory test and practical, but for the future experiences on the road meant that when I passed my test first time, I had the confidence and the knowledge to be able to drive in every situation. Now, I know I will be able to handle driving on a motorway, or do that park in a busy town without apprehension.

Despite Coronavirus disrupting our schedule, Derek was very supportive in recommending what to do for my private practice and was patient but encouraging when we were able to return to lessons. Because of how well I feel I was taught, getting back on track was very smooth and soon after, I took my test.
Derek is a lovely guy. He is very polite and a very good teacher. He never raises his voice and always has 100% confidence in you, which is great when you are learning to drive. The Tivoli that you learn to drive in is comfortable and easy to get an understanding of. All of the controls are easy to get used to and the drive itself is smooth.
The iPad that he uses is really useful as it allows you to watch videos to practice manoeuvres etc and also helps you easily keep track of your progress. Overall my experience with Derek was 10/10 and I would definitely recommend him.

I undertook my ADI driver training with Derek Francis who delivered my training. Driving in-car training was very informative and was meticulous in delivery. The course material was very thorough, clear and easy to follow. Provided a professional approach to learning and the car / learning environment was immaculate before and after the pandemic, with adherence to the COVID-19 rules at all times. Always kept focus on the task in hand whilst ensuring DVSA standards check throughout the lessons. Helpful Feedback was always provided with the use of reflective logs and encouragement given to do self evaluation and reflect on what further can be improved in order to achieve Part 3.

Derek instructed me to become a qulified driver in the UK, as a driver with more than 10 years experience, I had some bad habits that were not acceptable by the UK regulations. Derek patiently and consistantly went through my mistakes to make sure i had learnt properly. He was kind, polite and organised. My progress was being recored and we were reviewing it at the end of each session.
Derek came recomended to us by freinds and we weren't disapointed. He was professional and courteous from the start, he fully explained how he would teach our son to drive and the course Ethan would follow. He kept us updated with Ethan's progress and when the time came, he suggested we take Ethan out for extra practice too. His pricing was fair and we feel we have had value for money. The iPad was an amazing touch to learning, to see the areas on a chart and able to rate myself really helped my understand on what areas I needed improvement on.
The car itself was easy to get to grips with and the technology it provided helped give an understanding of the distances.
You yourself was amazing, being firm but gentle with your teaching and questioning me as to why I’ve done certain things and picking me up on silly mistakes, which certainly helped me pass with only 3 minors.
Being picky with me certainly paid off and I can’t thank you enough for getting me to test standard, anyone who decides to learn how to drive with you should feel privileged because you put such a high standard to your lessons.
